Bilingual Paraeducator Institute: Supporting Multilingual-English Learners
This five-session event focuses on best practices for Bilingual Paraeducators to support multilingual learners. Topics included in the sessions are educational equity, theories of second language acquisition and learning, Common Core State Standards (CCSS), English Language Development (ELD) Standards, Integrated and Designated ELD along with effective strategies to support students in the four domains of language listening, speaking, reading and writing. All sessions are conducted in English.
AUDIENCE: Paraeducators, TOSAs, Instructional Coaches
All sessions are in-person from 8:30-11:30 AM.

Session 2 - January 16, 2026 (Schools Insurance Authority Building)
CCSS and the ELD Standards to support multilingual learners
Session 3 - January 23, 2026 (Board Room)
Developing multilingual learners’ listening and speaking skills
Session 4 - January 28, 2026 (Room A)
Reading strategies that support multilingual learners
Session 5 - February 5, 2026 (Room C)
Writing activities that support multilingual learners
Participants must attend all five sessions to obtain a certificate of completion.
