Group Facilitation Training
A 2-day facilitation workshop hosted by SBMHW using The Girls Circle/The Council for Boys and Young Men model for eligible service providers within the Sacramento County CYBHI Consortium. This series is designed to strengthen Sacramento County’s collective capacity to serve students and families across diverse settings while also building the operational readiness needed to successfully bill under the CYBHI fee schedule.
The workshop will supply service providers with the theoretical framework of the Girls Circle Model, with emphasis on The Council for Boys and Young Men and Masculinity. Current research and relational issues affecting girls and boys, the Relational-Cultural model, resiliency practices, trauma-informed approaches pertaining to youth with complex trauma. The workshop will also provide principles of group communication, methods for handling group dynamics, and effective facilitation skills. Participants practice the “group discussion and experiential models” by leading a small group discussion followed by constructive feedback.
