Shadowing Multilingual Learners
Whether you’re already trained in the research-validated Multilingual Learner (ML) shadowing process or are just discovering its impact, we invite you to join us for this dynamic, information-rich learning series. Grounded in Shadowing Multilingual Learners by Dr. Ivannia Soto, this series highlights more than a decade of lessons learned from ML shadowing implementation across schools and districts.
This professional learning experience is designed to help participants learn, practice, and implement both the ML shadowing protocol and three research-based strategies proven to disrupt ML silence in instructional settings. Participants will be equipped to integrate these tools into daily practice and support meaningful oral language development that is essential for MLs.
Participants will gain:
-
An overview on the importance of oral language development
-
Guidance on preparing for the ML shadowing
-
Step-by-step training in the complete shadowing protocol
-
A guide for analyzing the shadowing experience
-
Key strategies to strengthen oral language opportunities in the classroom
