Protecting Your District, Protecting Students: Charter Oversight That Works

During this interactive session, we'll cover what the law requires of you as an authorizer, why going beyond the minimum matters, and what it looks like when oversight falls short, using real-life, recent examples from across the state. We'll also take a targeted look at reviewing charter school LCAPs as a meaningful oversight tool and discuss what the Governor's proposed 2026–27 budget trailer bill means for your work as an authorizer.

You will also have the opportunity to connect with fellow authorizers facing similar challenges and walk away with ready-to-use resources, templates, and tools you can put into practice right away.

This training is offered at NO COST through CASI, a collaborative initiative between the California Department of Education, San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD), the Los Angeles County Office of Education, and the Santa Clara County Office of Education, dedicated to providing training and support to charter school authorizers statewide.
