Building Thinking Classrooms: Refining Toolkit 3 (Option 1)
Inspired by Peter Liljedahl's groundbreaking research and book, "Building Thinking Classrooms," this workshop is designed for educators who have already implemented Toolkits 1, 2, and 3 and are looking to fine-tune these practices with peers.
Join us for an immersive, hands-on workshop and networking opportunity. Continue your journey through collaborative planning and peer conversations. Share your implementation successes and current barriers in order to refine how these teaching methodologies engage your students while deepening their understanding of content.
By the end of the workshop, participants will have a deeper understanding of how to successfully implement Practices 9, 10, and 11 (Toolkit 3) in their classrooms. They will widen their professional learning community through networking with other educators on the thinking classroom journey.
Dive Into:
1. Maintaining FLOW
2. Thin-Sliced Lessons
3. Designing Consolidation
4. Building Meaningful Notes
Audience:
K-12 teachers, coaches, and administrators who are interested in deepening their understanding of Toolkit 3 implementation. This workshop is ideal if: you've read the book (at least through Chapter 11); you are on the "messy pancake journey of implementing Toolkit 3; and you want to share your experience and build your BTC mentoring web.
This workshop is considered "follow-up "support for participants from the 2023 BTC Summer Institute. You must have attended one of the institutes or are currently receiving year 2 or 3 BTC support from the SCOE Math Team.
We will be serving a continental breakfast and pizza for lunch.
