Opening Session- Introduction to Weeks at a Glance 48 of 60 open seats
9:00 AM – 10:00 AM TBD
This session introduces AVID Elective teachers to AVID's Weeks at a Glance (WAG), the resources that drive Elective instruction. Teachers will navigate the structure and terminology of a WAG unit, explore how individual lessons are built, and leave with a working understanding of how to locate and read the materials they'll use all year. Designed for teachers new to the WAGs or looking for a refresher on the fundamentals.
Opening Session: Refinement to Weeks at a Glance 36 of 60 open seats
9:00 AM – 10:00 AM TBD
Built for teachers already using the WAGs, this session moves beyond navigation into reflection and adaptation. Teachers will analyze a real WAG lesson in grade-level teams, then jigsaw their thinking across grade levels to surface patterns in how lessons get modified for their students. The session also tackles the practical reality of fitting 45-minute WAG lessons into varied bell schedules, and closes by anchoring the day's work in AVID's Secondary Implementation Tool — moving practice from consistent use toward reflective modification and cross-grade alignment.
Session #1: Strengthening Tutorials: A Deep Dive into AVID’s 10 Steps 44 of 60 open seats

Participants will deepen their understanding of the before, during, and after phases of the AVID Tutorial Process. The session includes interactive strategies that you’ll practice and can immediately implement with your students.** Note: This does not replace Tutorology offered during AVID Summer Institute, Ignite, Elevate, or Path Trainings.
Session #1: College Admissions Essentials for AVID Elective Teachers 37 of 60 open seats
10:15 AM – 2:30 PM TBD
AVID Elective teachers play a critical role in preparing students for the college admissions journey. This workshop explores the essential components of the application process, including admissions timelines, personal statements, letters of recommendation, and financial aid. Participants will also explore the Weeks at a Glance lessons to provide consistent support throughout the admissions process, ensuring students stay on track. You will leave with practical strategies, tools, and resources to integrate college readiness into the AVID Elective and help students develop strong, competitive applications. This session is designed for all high school AVID Elective teachers and is especially valuable for those working with 11th- and 12th-grade students.
Optional Planning Time 45 of 60 open seats
2:45 PM – 4:00 PM TBD
This optional planning session provides dedicated time for individuals and teams to reflect, collaborate, and put today’s learning into action. Participants are encouraged to bring current lessons, goals, or instructional plans and use this time to determine how they will apply strategies and resources from the day’s sessions in their own context. This is unfacilitated work time, allowing participants to focus on what is most relevant to their needs. AVID coaches will be available throughout the session to serve as thought partners, answer questions, provide feedback, and support next-step planning.
