CA Alternative Pathway to a HS Diploma for Students with Cognitive Disabilities (Families)
The new pathway to a diploma provides an alternative route to graduation for students with significant cognitive disabilities, ensuring they receive recognition for their educational achievements while still receiving necessary support and accommodations. Students meeting eligibility will receive a diploma and may participate in graduation ceremonies and related activities just like other students of their age. This workshop will provide historical and legal context for the alt pathway, requirements for eligibility, and outline sample coursework to meet the requirements.
The workshop sessions will be 1 hour, with a 30 minute optional Q&A session to follow.
