Shadowing Multilingual Language Learners with Dr. Ivannia Soto- Cohort #2 (Placer County)

Whether you’ve already been trained in the research validated EL shadowing process or you’re just discovering its power now, we invite you to join us for this information packed series. In the decade since Soto’s best-selling ELL Shadowing book was published, more than 90,000 shadowing projects have been conducted in California and across the country. With the publication of the new Second Edition, Shadowing Multilingual Learners, this series will share the lessons learned during the past 10 years of implementation.

The series is designed so you’ll learn, practice, as well as implement both shadowing and three research-based strategies to disrupt MLL silence in your setting. You will then have time to apply your new knowledge before the next session, ensuring you’ll be able to embed your new skills in your everyday practice and take these skills back to your school or district. You’ll learn:

  • an overview on the importance of oral language development

  • information on preparing the shadowing experience

  • the complete shadowing protocol

  • a guide for analyzing the shadowing experience

  •  key oral language development strategies

Audience:

Grade 7-12 Teachers, Coaches,  Counselors, Administrators, EL Leaders
