Maximizing the Community Schools Strategy to Support Foster Youth and Homeless Students
This two-part series will focus on supporting Foster Youth and Students experiencing Homelessness. Participants will learn how these populations are identified, and their specfic challenges and unqiue needs. The first part will focus on Education Entitlements of Foster Youth and Homeless Students, and the importance of working with multiple partners to ensure their education needs are being met.
The second workshop will cover Graduation Exemptions, College and Career Readiness, and other Transition Support Partnerships and resources. Participants will learn how to access support from their county Child Welfare, County Office of Education, Foster You Service Coordinating Programs, Probation, and Independent Living Programs.
