Aligning LCAP and Community Schools: A Unified Approach to Support and Success
Please join the Capitol Area Regional Transformational Assistance Center (R-TAC) and the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) for a free, one-hour virtual session to understand how the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) process and Community Schools Initiative complement and support each other. The goal is to understand how these two district efforts can work together to create a comprehensive, coherent LCAP that reflects the needs of the community.
The LCAP is a statement of the district’s priorities and investments. Ideally, it brings seemingly distinct initiatives and projects together into one coherent description of the district’s vision and goals, informed by educational partners. Community Schools are very much part of this coherent approach - creating positive learning environments by ensuring that services and support for students, families and staff are available and aligned. Community School directors frequently convene families and students to share ideas and provide input at their school sites. They also coordinate and organize myriad districtwide and site-specific supports that are, or should be, part of the LCAP.
In this session, you will gather information, collaborate with your district team and hear what other districts are doing.
Who should attend? LCAP writers, State & Federal programs directors, budget and finance staff, Community School directors and others whose input on Community Schools and the LCAP would be helpful.
