How to use the CA English Learner Roadmap Early Childhood Toolkit: A Trainer of Trainers

Dual language learners now comprise a majority of young children in our state. This professional learning opportunity is designed for school leaders who now embrace TK and preschool programs on their site and for preschool program directors across a mixed delivery system.

Become acquainted with the resources within the new Preschool/Transitional Kindergarten Toolkit, and explore strategies and approaches to using the Toolkit’s readings, reflection tools and activities within your own professional learning and technical assistance efforts with educational leaders and staff in your early education sites. Focusing on Dual Language Learners, this toolkit provides research-based, developmentally appropriate, assets-based, culturally and linguistically responsive resources for strengthening practices, programs, and supports that are aligned with the CA English Learner Roadmap.

Must be present to receive a hard copy of the toolkit. A light breakfast and lunch will be served.

Audience: County Office and district personnel responsible for preschool and/or Transitional Kindergarten, and for early education program directors, coordinators, and project specialists.
