Join us for an engaging session to explore the dynamics of our multi-generational workplace. In this session, we’ll chat openly about the common generational stereotypes that often make us chuckle, while also unpacking the underlying differences in communication styles, work approaches, and views on technology and leadership. Through lively discussions and shared laughter, we'll identify practical strategies for bridging these generational gaps to create a more connected, collaborative, and inclusive work environment. Whether you're a Baby Boomer, Gen X, Millennial, or Gen Z, this session will equip you with insights and tools to foster stronger relationships and more effective teamwork across generations.

Overview: The New Coordinator Support Sessions will provide an opportunity for new California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) and English Language Assessments for California (ELPAC) coordinators (in their job for three years or less) to receive small group support from experienced coordinators.

The LEA assessment coordinator position has a huge learning curve, including many deadlines and few, if any, ‘job alikes’ within a district. The sessions will be guided by the activities listed in the Coordinator Checklist and will include other timely activities. The support sessions will be offered monthly via Zoom. These sessions will be co-facilitated by SCOE and PCOE LEA coordinators. The facilitators will help address questions and offer support. These support sessions are designed to provide new LEA assessment coordinators an opportunity to connect with other coordinators, build community and to ask questions related to their job in a small group setting.

Part 2: UDL Refresher

Select one 1.5 hour virtual session - Reflecting on UDL & renovating learning centers with UDL in mind

In this 2-part series you’ll sharpen your UDL skills during lesson planning to support ALL students in your inclusive classroom. Consortium members receive a $300 stipend for completing parts 1 and 2.

Participants will strengthen their understanding of the role identity and belonging play in the learning environment and academic engagement. We will explore our own identities and how identity shapes our experiences and honor the interconnections between identity, belonging, and student and staff outcomes.

Join this interactive Canva session where learning happens by doing. Explore key Canva features while working on your own projects, experimenting with design tools, and sharing ideas with others. This collaborative workshop encourages creativity, play, and peer learning—perfect for building confidence and picking up practical tips you can use right away.

Content will be tailored to participants' needs, interests, and goals. Together, we'll work through questions as they arise, explore exciting new Canva features and discoveries, troubleshoot challenges, and adapt the session based on what participants want to learn. Whether you're looking to master the basics or discover advanced tips and tricks, you'll leave with practical skills you can immediately apply to your own designs.

Navigating state and federal program requirements can be complex! To support your work and keep you informed, SCOE offers the State and Federal Programs Network.

These virtual sessions are designed to serve as a collaborative space for both district and charter leaders. Sample topics include:

• Timely Regulatory & Funding Updates: Key guidance regarding Title programs, LCAP alignment, grant management, and compliance timelines.
• Peer Collaboration: Dedicated time to share effective practices, resources, and strategies across districts and charter schools.
• Q&A & Direct Technical Assistance: Live opportunities to clarify guidance, address common compliance questions, and request focused support.

Meetings are held via Zoom the week following the CDE State and Federal Directors meeting. A calendar invite and Zoom link will be shared upon registration.

We invite all new and returning LCRS LEA/site Administrators, Grant Leads, and/or Designees to join us in September for a leadership session focused on setting up for success in the LCRSET Grant. Learn from an experienced Principal and Coach team who will share their story and the conditions they set up for their site to be successful to make the move to Science of Reading. Their culture and practices include evidence-based curriculum, instruction, and assessment, collaboration, and data dives.

At the December session, administrators will receive a preview of the California Reading and Literature Project's Signature Course Results: Foundational skills for teaching word recognition and fluency. By the end of the session, administrators will gain an overview of the content that their Literacy & Dual Language Coaches will be learning throughout the year.

Who: Site and LEA Administrators, Grant Leads, and/or Designees. Principal/ Coach teams are also encouraged to attend.

The Capital Regional Assessment Network (CRAN) is more than just a meeting—it’s a vibrant community of assessment and accountability professionals from across the 14-county Capital Central Foothill Area Consortium (CCFAC) and beyond.

Led by the Sacramento and Placer County Offices of Education—with support from COE partners and local educational agencies (LEAs)—CRAN brings together smart minds, shared challenges, and fresh ideas.

Each meeting is a chance to learn, laugh, and connect. Whether you're troubleshooting tricky testing logistics or celebrating a new data dashboard, CRAN is the place to bring your questions, swap stories, and spark ideas with fellow coordinators. Come for the updates, stay for the camaraderie—and leave with tools, insights, and maybe even a few new friends.

Augmentative and Alternative Communication in the Special Education Classroom

This training focuses on integrating Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) into the classroom environment and daily instruction. Participants will explore strategies for designing inclusive learning spaces, embedding AAC into lesson planning, and implementing effective teaching techniques that support all communicators. This session is designed to equip teachers and classroom teams with practical tools to create communication-rich environments, adapt instruction for AAC users, and foster student engagement. Attendees will leave with actionable strategies and resources to enhance their teaching practices and support AAC implementation across the school day.

Becoming Super Friends: Where Friendship Skills Begin

A Pyramid Model Workshop for Early Childhood Educators

• Focuses on teaching foundational friendship skills: sharing, turn-taking, inviting others, problem-solving, expressing feelings, and giving compliments.

• Follows a 3-part structure:
o 45-Minute Interactive Presentation — Evidence-based strategies for teaching friendship skills.
o 15-Minute Video Reflection — Real classroom examples with guided discussion.
o 55-Minute Tinker and Take — Make-and-take session to create friendship skill tools for immediate use.

• Highlights peer-mediated strategies and everyday teaching opportunities.
• Provides child-friendly vocabulary cards, family engagement resources, and peer-coaching ideas.
• Includes ready-to-use classroom activities for any early learning setting.
• Designed for all educators—center-based, family child care, Head Start, and FFN providers.

These virtual sessions will offer an opportunity to learn from guest speakers in the education field, collectively discuss current trends and relevant data related to inclusion topics, and collaboratively network with other educators

Audience: Staff who lead in early learning settings with students between 0-5 years of age.

This one-day workshop focuses on toolkits 2-3 from Peter Lillejedahl's Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics book.

We'll dive deeper into the strategies:

That keep students actively thinking and staying in flow

The steps needed to consolidate and close the lesson

The macro and micro moves teachers utilize to ensure student learning of the concepts.

Participants should have either completed the first course or have already set up their classrooms to reflect BTC
